In a deeply disturbing case from Rajasthan’s Alwar district, a man allegedly murdered his six-year-old nephew as part of a black magic ritual. The accused reportedly believed the act would help him regain control over his estranged wife. The incident has sparked widespread shock and outrage across the state and raised concerns about the dangerous influence of superstition.

Child Lured and Killed by Trusted Family Member

The victim, Lokesh Prajapat, went missing on July 19. According to the police, his uncle Manoj Kumar Prajapat (26) had taken him to a deserted area in Sarayakala village under the pretense of buying him snacks. Once there, he strangled the child and concealed his body under a pile of fodder. Investigators later found syringe marks on the boy’s body, suggesting blood was drawn from him, likely for ritualistic purposes.

Black Magic and a Desperate Motive

Manoj reportedly acted under the influence of a local occult practitioner, or tantrik, identified as Sunil Kumar (40). After Manoj’s wife Geeta left him due to his substance abuse, he sought the tantrik’s help to bring her back. Sunil allegedly advised him to perform a human sacrifice, demanding ₹12,000, along with a child’s blood and organs to carry out a ritual that would supposedly bring Manoj’s wife back under his control.

Driven by superstition and desperation, Manoj chose his own nephew as the target for this horrific act. He later tried to participate in the search for the missing boy to divert suspicion but was eventually caught due to inconsistencies in his behavior.

Police Crack the Case, Arrest Two Accused

The local police in Mundawar, under the leadership of SHO Mahavir Singh Shekhawat, quickly launched an investigation after the child’s disappearance. When suspicions turned toward Manoj, he was detained and eventually confessed to the crime. The tantrik, Sunil Kumar, was also arrested for his role in instigating the ritual.

Both men are now in police custody and face multiple charges, including murder and criminal conspiracy. The syringes and other items used in the crime have been sent for forensic examination, while post-mortem reports confirmed the cause of death as strangulation.

Village in Mourning and Shock

The entire village of Sarayakala has been left devastated by the brutal killing of the young boy. Lokesh’s parents, Bintu and Babli Prajapat, are in deep grief. Witnesses described how his mother fainted multiple times upon seeing her son’s lifeless body. Neighbors expressed disbelief that such an atrocity could be committed by a close family member.

Superstition Still a Deadly Force

This case has highlighted once again how harmful blind faith and superstition can be, especially in rural areas where awareness is limited. Incidents of human sacrifice, though rare, continue to occur in parts of India, fueled by the manipulations of self-proclaimed godmen and occult practitioners.

Social activists have called for urgent action to combat such regressive practices, emphasizing the need for public awareness, education, and stricter laws to crack down on fraudulent tantriks.

Government and Legal Action Underway

Authorities have assured that the case will be investigated thoroughly. There is growing support for legislation to prevent crimes motivated by superstition. Police have reiterated that anyone involved in such practices will face the full force of the law.

Legal experts have also stressed the need for reform, pointing out that existing laws must be updated to address crimes inspired by occult beliefs more effectively.

A Wake-Up Call for Society

The tragic death of six-year-old Lokesh is not just a family’s personal loss—it is a reflection of the urgent need for change in societal attitudes. Mental health support, community education, and the eradication of dangerous superstitions are essential steps forward.

This horrific act serves as a grim reminder of what can happen when belief in the supernatural overrides reason and compassion. It’s a wake-up call for policymakers, communities, and families alike to prevent such tragedies in the future.
